The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) and Evangelical Fellowship Zambia (EFZ) have successfully hosted the 2024 Climate Change Dialogue and Indaba in Sioma District. Under the theme “Building Resilient Communities: Local Solutions to Climate Shocks,” the event brought together key stakeholders such as the Council Secretary, District Health Office, Department of Wildlife and National Parks, Forestry Department, Municipal Council to explore innovative solutions to climate-related challenges.
Key discussions centered around:
Leveraging the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and Emergency Response Fund (ERF) for climate resilience; Enhancing Social Protection programs to support vulnerable communities; Innovations in natural resource management and climate-resilient solutions; Inclusive programs prioritizing marginalized groups for enhanced resilienceOverall, the Indaba aimed to foster community-led climate action, promoting sustainable and resilient livelihoods in Sinazongwe District.
This activity is part of the Climate Just Communities (CJC) project supported by the Scottish Government through NIRAS Zambia.
