The Civil Society For Poverty Reduction (CSPR) with support from the European Union held an engagement meeting aimed at fostering stronger connections between local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the office of the Members of Parliament (MPs) in Mongu. By equipping local CSOs with essential knowledge on how constituency offices operate, CSPR is paving the way for enhanced communication and collaboration between constituency offices and the communities.
The activity aims to bridge the gap between professional assistants and communities by fostering a collaborative platform that supports the effective functioning of constituency offices through community interactive feedback. CSPR Western Province Provincial Coordinator told the participants of the meeting that “by empowering CSOs, CSPR is ensuring the pass on of knowledge and skills to the communities, and as such, enhancing their understanding of how these offices operate and how to effectively engage with them”.
CSPR believes that strengthening the networking capabilities of local CSOs with communities and decision-makers will not only enhance their ability to influence local development priority outcomes, but also foster a transparent and accountable governance environment that gives the people a stronger voice!
The meeting was held under the Citizens’ Voice project. The project is jointly implemented by CSPR and BBC Media Action with Financial support from the European Union.
