The Public Debt Awareness Football Tournament in Choma, Southern Province, was a huge success! 
. The event aimed to raise awareness about public debt management among young people. Four under-17 teams from Division 4 participated, and Zed United emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Barts FA.
. The event aimed to raise awareness about public debt management among young people. Four under-17 teams from Division 4 participated, and Zed United emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Barts FA.During the tournament, CSPR’s Debt Justice Champions delivered important messages about public debt to the community, highlighting its impact on Zambia’s economy and the importance of debt restructuring. The event attracted over 500 community members and was officially opened by the Secretary to the Permanent Secretary.
The tournament’s goal was to empower young Zambians to understand public debt and hold leaders accountable for its management. With Zambia’s debt standing at approximately US$26 billion, it’s essential for citizens to be informed and engaged in discussions surrounding public debt management.
Organized by #CSPR with support from the Open Society Foundation- Africa, the tournament was part of the “Amplified Youth Voices in Public Debt Management” project, which runs from 2023 to 2025.
