CSPR SHARES INFORMATION ON CIVIC SPACE REGULATION IN ZAMBIA Choma

The Civic Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) in partnership with Save the Children (SCI) has conducted a sensitization and information sharing training on the Non-Governmental Organizations-NGO and civic space regulation for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in Zambia. Attended by 30 CSO representatives from Choma, the meeting addressed the importance of safeguarding the civic space during governance processes.
During the meeting, participants explored the NGO Act No. 16 of 2009 and the Access to Information (ATI) Act No.24 of 2023, discussing their roles in expanding civic space freedoms and promoting policy advocacy in Southern Province.
This activity is part of the Expanding the Civic and Fiscal Space for Child Rights being implemented by CSPR and SCI in Southern Province. The project aims to increase child participation in civic spaces, promoting greater access to children’s rights. It also empowers CSOs and children to advocate for governance issues, fostering a more inclusive and accountable society
