Following the district level training on advocacy and social accountability tools, #CSPR in partnership with the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has successfully conducted awareness meetings on community forest management and carbon financing.

The meeting informed community members from Sioma and Shang’ombo about community-based forest management (CBFM) practices and the opportunities within carbon financing as a tool for sustainable development and climate change mitigation.

The meeting was attended by the local community forest management groups, advocacy champions and village headmen and women from Watembo and Liwandamo ward in Sioma District, and State Ranch and Mulungu ward in Shang’ombo District.

This activity is part of the Climate Just Communities-CJC project —a climate justice flagship initiative financed by the Scottish Government through NIRAS Zambia
