Access to accurate information and demanding for rights remains a challenge among some citizens in most rural parts of Zambia.
In a bid to complement government efforts and bridge the gap that exists between communities and duty bearers, CSPR in Western Province through the voice and accountability project has embarked on mass sensitization activities through village level awareness campaigns and popular raising awareness campaigns at district level. The activities are aimed at empowering communities and grassroot structures with information on public service provision, budgeting, social accountability mechanisms and grievance redress mechanisms mainly focusing on the education sector at school level.
Activities are being conducted across the five districts of the Voice and accountability implementation sites of Nalolo, Kaoma, Kalabo Senanga and Sesheke.
