Following the release of the Audit Report on the Utilization of School grants in 182 schools across Zambia by the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, CSPR through the Voice and Accountability Project has commenced district dialogue and town hall meetings in Eastern and Western provinces.
To enhance the prudent utilization of school grants and amplify community voices for improved education service provision, CSPR collaborating with the Anti-Corruption Commission is engaging participants in an interactive discussion on the school audit report findings and brainstorm potential solutions to address the highlighted issues amidst the current challenges being faced by the education sector such as such as limited/and or poor infrastructure, teacher shortages, high-pupil teacher ratio especially in rural areas.
These meetings are bringing together District Local officials such as, DEBs, Councillors, WDCs, Head Teachers while other participants include PTCs and community representatives.
Through these interfaces, CSPR is providing a valuable opportunity for local officials to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collaborate on strategies to strengthen the education system in the community. CSPR believes that transparency, accountability, and community engagement are essential components in improving education outcomes for all students.
