The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Diakonia have met the Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) stakeholders to learn more about the advocacy work CSPR has been implementing working with network member organizations in Luapula Province. The pool of CSPR stakeholders is drawn from the public secondary and combined schools, Civil Society Organizations, Chiefdoms, and Local Host Authorities.
The visit by UNICEF and Diakonia in CSPR’s implementation sites facilitates for new areas of collaboration, and continuity of partnership with CSPR. Some of the key areas of focus is to extend CSPR’s Children’s Parliament in Luapula Province to public schools in other provinces for increased children’s participation in governance processes at local and national level.
The meetings were attended by the Bahati Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Leevan Chibombwe, His Worship the Mayor of Mansa Njikho Musuku, and Civic Leaders from the province .
The UNICE delegation was led by UN Country representative —Zambia Dr. Penelope Campbell, in the company of CSPR’S Executive Director Faides TembaTemba and Diakonia County Director Mr. Geoffrey Chongo.
