The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) with support from Joint Country Programme (JCP) on 16th and 20th February 2024 conducted a comprehensive training and capacity-building session for community monitoring groups in Choma and Monze district. The main objective was to empower community members by imparting essential knowledge and skills in social accountability, thereby facilitating enhanced monitoring of service delivery. The aim was also to foster increased transparency, elevate service delivery standards, and fortify community participation in decision-making processes.
The training sessions drew the participation of 40 community members, comprising 21 males and 19 females. The main goal was to contribute to the creation of an informed and engaged community, ensuring that duty bearers are held accountable for the effective provision of public services. By doing so, the training sought to guarantee that the community’s needs are met, and resources are utilized in an effective and efficient manner.
The successful execution of the activity yielded tangible results, as evidenced by the heightened awareness among community members regarding social accountability knowledge and skills. This outcome signifies a positive step towards achieving the broader objectives of promoting a more transparent, accountable, and participatory community that actively contributes to improved service delivery.
